A Sad Day In Indianapolis

The day has come. The Indianapolis Colts have decided to part ways with quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning has been the face of the franchise since they drafted him with the number 1 pick in 1998. Since then, he has transformed the Colts from a losing franchise to one that expects to contend every year.
Peyton has been the definition of professional throughout his career. Even with his recent injuries and the questions surrounding his future with the Colts and in the NFL, Peyton has been nothing but a pro. And that is rare to find in athletes now-in-days.
Manning did lead the Colts to a championship in Superbowl 41, has been an 11 time pro bowl selection, holds almost every Colts passing record, and is almost a shoe in for the Hall of Fame.
His on the field and off the field contributions will be missed greatly. Big shoes for expected first pick Andrew Luck to fill. It’s the end of an era in Indy. One that may never be matched.
